What We Believe
1. We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New testaments as verbally inspired by God and inerrant in
the original writings. They are of supreme and final authority in faith and life.

2. We believe in one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
(Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; 1 Peter 1:2)
3. We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God
and true man. We believe that He eternally existed with the Father and the Holy Spirit as the
second person of the Trinity and that He became flesh in the incarnation.

4. We believe in the personality of the Holy Spirit as set forth in the Word of God and that He is essential
to the salvation and regeneration of the lost. (John 14:16-17; 16:7-11)
5. We believe that man was created in the image of God, but that he sinned and thereby incurred not only
physical death, but also that spiritual death which is separation from God. All human beings are
born with a sinful nature and, in the case of those who reach moral responsibility, become sinners
in thought, word, and deed. (Genesis 1-2; John 1:3; Romans 5:12; 6:23; Colossians 1:16-17)
6. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, as a vicarious and
substitutionary sacrifice. All who believe in Him are justified through faith on the ground of His
shed blood. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 1 Peter 2:24; Revelation 1:5)
7. We believe that Jesus Christ was buried and rose again from the dead the third day. We believe that
His resurrection body was a literal, physical (though glorified) body and that He took that body
to heaven with Him. At the present time, He is at the right hand of the Father interceding for us
as our High Priest and Advocate. (Luke 24:39; Acts 1:8-11; Romans 8:34; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4;
1 Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 4:14-16; 1 John 2:1)
8. We believe in "That Blessed Hope", the personal, physical, premillennial, and imminent coming of our
Lord in the air for His saints. We regard the second coming in two aspects: (1) He will come
first to take His own to be with Himself at the Rapture, and (2) He will come after the Tribulation
with His Church to establish His Kingdom on the earth.

9. We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and,
thereby, become children of God. They are indwelt and sealed by the Holy Spirit and so are
secured unto the day of redemption of the body.
(John 1:12; Ephesians 1:13-14; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
10. We believe that the Church of Jesus Christ began at Pentecost, is composed of believers, is the Body
and Bride of our Lord, is distinct from Israel, and that its business is to complete itself through the
winning of lost souls to Christ. (Acts 2)
11. We believe the mission of the Church is clearly set forth in Matthew 28:19-20:
"Go therefore and make
disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the
Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with
you always, even to the end of the age." (NKJV) This passage sets forth the primary mission of
the Church as the making of disciples. The Church is to do this by taking the gospel to every
ethnic group in the world, baptizing those who respond in faith (thus testifying to their new life in
Christ), and training its members and new converts to be followers of Christ in all things by providing
for their teaching, edification, worship, and fellowship. (Ephesians 4:11-12)
12. We believe that there are two ordinances divinely enjoined upon all Christians, baptism by immersion
and the Lord's Supper. Without merit in themselves, these ceremonies provide an expression of
faith regarding the believer's identification and fellowship with Christ.

13. We believe that the Scriptures set forth immersion as the method of baptism because it pictures the
believer's death, burial, and resurrection with Christ into newness of life. Baptism is a commandment
given by the Lord to all believers. (Matthew 3:13-17; 28:19-20; Acts 8:36-38; 10:47-48;
Romans 6:3-5)
14. We believe that the bread and fruit of the vine used in the Communion Service are symbols of the
broken body and shed blood of the Lord Jesus. Partaking of these elements is a commandment
given by the Lord to all believers. (Luke 22:19; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)
15. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, but each in his own order. We
believe in the everlasting conscious blessedness of the saved in Heaven and the everlasting
conscious punishment of the lost in Hell. (1 Corinthians 15:20-24; 2 Corinthians 5:8;
1 Thessalonians 4:16; Revelation 20:11-15)
16. We believe in the personality of Satan, a fallen angel and the unholy god of this age. He is the
adversary of Christ and His Church. His destiny is eternal punishment in the lake of fire.
(Matthew 4:1-3; 2 Corinthians 4:4; Revelation 20:10)
17. We believe that Heaven is a definite place prepared for all those who have put their trust in Christ
as Redeemer. (John 14:2) Spirits of believers go to Heaven to await resurrection.
(2 Corinthians 5:8)
18. We believe there is a literal Hell, or Lake of Fire, for the everlasting conscious punishment of the
unregenerate who die in their lost condition. (Matthew 25:46; 2 Thessalonians 1:9;
Revelation 21:8) Spirits of unbelievers go to Hell to await their sentencing. (Revelation 20:13-15)
19. We believe that it is required of every Christian to live a life separated (distinct) from the world.
(Romans 12:2; 2 Corinthians 6:14-17; 1 John 2:15-17)
